Democracy Jenga. Enamel on Wood, various sizes, 2025

Democracy Jenga is a sculptural work modeled after the familiar stacking game, but painted in the colors of the American flag. Each block is rendered in red, white, or blue, transforming a childhood pastime into a metaphor for the precarious state of democratic structures.

As in the game, the tower stands only as long as its participants act with care and foresight. Every move destabilizes or reinforces the whole, echoing the fragile balance of trust, accountability, and collective responsibility that sustains democracy.
