Rumi and Me

“Rumi and Me” 2019

This series began with learning to meditate followed by an interest in 13th century Persian poet, Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī. Each poem I read inspired a vision, that became a collage, that culminated in a painting. Inherited paper and craft supplies were a springboard for creating the collages, and the collages served as drafts for the paintings in “Rumi and Me”.

The poems are on the left below. The collages are 8″x8″ paper collage on wood and displayed in the middle below. The paintings are on the far right below and are 24″x24″ oil and acrylic on wood.
